Kerner is a cross of Schiava and Riesling created around 1930. It prefers the light gravelly sandy soils of the higher altitude, sunny hillsides of the mid Valle Isarco at 1950 – 2600 feet of altitude. The hand-picked grapes are delicately crushed and fermented at controlled temperatures and matured on the lees in stainless steel tanks. No malolactic fermentation.
Dry, full, aromatic with light scent of spicy muscat and nectarine. Fresh, with clean finishing acidity making it the perfect aperitif, or pair with poached seafood or sautéed trout.
