This wine is made from 100% Aglianico. It is deep garnet in appearance from Aglianico’s naturally dark appearance, but also with a slight orange rim from time ageing in bottle. On the nose, you’ll find a core of mellowing ripe red and black cherry fruit with some dried violets, hints of oak-aged spice and a developed mushroom character. On the palate, expect a lovely core of mellowing fruit with robust tannins, lively acidity and well-balanced high alcohol. This is a classic expression of Taurasi, sometimes referred to as ‘the Barolo of the South’, with plenty of length, concentration and complexity.
